What Are You Dying For?

What are we living for? What drives us on? These questions help us figure out what is important and what really matters in our lives. Is it possible however that we need to ask a different question? What are we dying for? In what ways are we laying down the things that are "precious" to us for the sake of those who do not know Jesus.

How are we living in such a way that people see the same sacrifice of love that Jesus displayed? How do we die more to the things of this world in order that more people learn of God's loving kindness? How much more can God use us if we are more willing to die for his sake than hold to the things that fade away? I don't know the answer to this but I am striving to learn what it means to lose my life, so that not only I but everyone can discover eternal life in Jesus.

John 12:24-26

"Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me."
