Success and accomplishment can be indications of God's blessing but we must remember they are not the basis for it. The basis of God's blessing is his great love for people. If we look back on the heroes in the bible, we can clearly see that these people were flawed, made poor decisions, and sometimes were just plain bad. What is amazing about this is that God still used them, God still loved them. We can do nothing to deserve God's love, but because of who he is, he gives it freely. I pray that you can take a minute to reflect on this and remember that whether you are in the midst of triumph or failure you are dearly loved. Don't let your circumstances drown out the voice of the one who delights over you. Don't let anything stand in the way of taking hold of the fact that you are loved by God and that he wants to walk with you.
1 John 4: 9-11
"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."
